I added a section to the end of the Practical Q&A page about making memory boxes. This can be difficult if you lost your baby very early in pregnancy so I wanted to give some ideas.

I don't think I have any new ideas. I think the only different thing I have in my box is an outfit that “just looks like Evie”. It is an outfit that I loved and imagined her wearing. I made a little memory book, so my box is mostly items I did not (or could not) put in the book. Your box is beautiful!

Yes, that's a good idea too. I had originally wanted to do a memory book, but I realized I had too many three-dimensional items that I wanted to be able to touch to do that. Eventually I stopped looking for the perfect book and made my own box. I am satisfied with it. I still have a few things to add (birth story, etc.). I like the idea of the outfit. The only thing I had thought of him wearing were the sweater and booties I made for him, but I just couldn't put them in. They're in the attic, hopefully waiting for a younger sibling. We do hand-me-downs in our family so it doesn't feel strange that someone else would wear what was supposed to be “his”. I think he would rather that than that they be put in a box and never worn.
